Spring
Ive always been undecided when it comes to spring. I know its not my favorite season but i cannot decide if it is my second favorite season. You see I'm more of a cold person than i am a hot person. I like walking outside and feeling a little chilly. It helps to wake me up in the morning and i like wearing my jacket. That is why my favorite season is fall. Its the perfect temp and the outdoors look amazing. Spring though can tend to be too hot and the crappy thing about the heat is that there is no way to escape it except by going indoors. The other thing about spring is the humidity. It can be ridiculous at times, all day you just feel sticky and hot and it just blows. With winter though if you get cold you just put on warmer clothes and that solves the problem. So although i love fishing and swimming in the lake i still don't know if all those outdoor activities make up for the heat and humidity.

Favorite Food
When I was young my favorite thing to eat used to be hot dogs. I used to eat them all the time i would always ask my mom for hot dogs and mac and cheese. Now that i have grown up and I've experienced many different kinds of food i have broadened my tasted horizons. My new favorite food is lasagna. I think my tastes have changed because i have tasted so much more things now then when i was younger. Ive come to like more things and i have become accustom to having food with more flavor than hot dogs and mac and cheese.

The Time My Opinion Mattered
Well if i remember correctly the last time i can remember my opinion really mattering was just last saturday. My friends and I were driving around looking for something to eat and no one could choose. After 10 minutes of talking about what we wanted to eat we came up with two options taco bell or subway. There were five people in the car and two of my friends said taco bell and the other two said subway. So it was up to me to chose where we would get our delicious food. After deliberating for a couple minutes if i wanted a healthy sub or a delicious pile of nachos and tacos i finally was able to make my decision. As we pulled into the taco bell drive thru i knew that the choice that i made was the correct one.

Zombie Apocalypse
What do one black dude, one woman, one biker, and an old Vietnam veteran have in common? They are the last four survivors in the city after the zombie Apocalypse. Armed with only two pistols a shotgun and a couple pipe bombs they must make their way to mercy hospital. They all start out on the roof of an apartment building and start blasting their way through the dozens of zombies that are downstairs. They make their way outside of the building and everything seems to be going fine until Louis ,the black guy, gets grabbed by a smoker ,a special zombie that grabs people and pulls them off with his tongue, and gets pulled into a car. As Louis slams into the car it sets the car alarm off. Zoey ,the woman, shoots the smoker to free Louis right before hundreds of zombies start coming to their location. As all four of them start running to the next safe house they are shooting charging zombies. One after another it seems like no matter how many zombies they shoot more and more keep coming. As Louis leads the team down an alley they find a ladder and climb up it and are just barely able to escape the zombie horde. They made it a total of 5 blocks and killed around 300 zombies. But they only made it to the first safe house, they still have to go 16 blocks to make it to the hospital.

Cool Idea
When I was trying to write about what song/book/movie that changed my life I couldn't think of anything. That's when I got to thinking about how much I hate writers block. It has to be the worst feeling to have. For me when I get writers block I know what I want to write about but I just cant seem to find a way to put it on paper. It would be amazing if sometime in the future they invent a machine that takes your thoughts and puts them on paper in a way that makes sense. That way the machine has started your paper and you can pick up from there. You can also make changes to what the machine puts down so it sounds better to you. I think that if this machine were to be made everyone would benefit from it. It would take some stress away from students and help anyone start any writing task they desire. The best thing about the machine is that its your own thoughts that the machine writes about soa technically it's not plagiarism.

Life Changing Song
Well around the first semester of school my girlfriend, of 3 and a half years, and I decided that it would probably be easier if we broke up. Even though we went to the same college our relationship had changed. It was rough trying to get over the breakup and even though I still know i am not over her a song that has really helped me with this breakup is My World by Lovedrug. It is a really mellow song that talks about trying to lose something. The lyrics in the song that really got me were, "Something in my world is dying now and I wish that it was you." The song also has a really good beat and the singer is also in two other bands that I like. The song helps me remember that I need to let go and the sooner I do that the sooner I can move on.

Sunday Morning
Recently i had one of those talks with my parents where you are arguing about something and in that argument you basically admit to something wrong you have done. It was Sunday morning and my brother, mom, dad, and i are eating breakfast at the table. Everything was going normal until i brought up a point about evolution. So my parents being religious conservatives argued that evolution is not real and that god made everything. So with my brother on my side we argued against my parents for about an hour. Then all of a sudden the topics switched instantly and i knew this argument was going to turn for the worst. My brother brought up the topic of legalizing Marijuana. Of course i was on his side again and we argued about this topic for another hour. My brother and i were using facts to support it and my parents were using "facts" against it. After the argument was over i knew that all that argument did was tell my parents that my brother and i smoke weed. Surprisingly my parents didn't give us any drug talks or even say anything about it. It was an interesting Sunday morning.

Pet Peeves
My biggest pet peeve is when people do not use manners. I mean how hard is it to say please or thank you. Just saying those words makes whatever you did or are going to do better. And if you don't use your manners you just seem like an asshole to everyone else. I don't get why people don't use them i mean why would you want to look like an asshole? Another pet peeve i have that kind of fits in with manners is when people don't use their turn signals. I mean come on its a small flick of the wrist that can save you from and expensive or life threatening accident. Both of my pet peeves are just little things that take no work at all but somehow people still don't use them. I mean you have to be a pretty arrogant dick if you don't use manners and just a lazy person if you don't use your turn signals.

Education
"Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten"(Skinner,B.F.). What i beleive that qoute means is that it doesn't matter if you forget dates that you learned in history or if you forgot the formula to a math problem. The point of it all is that you learn how to problem solve and that you know the general idea of what the class is trying to teach you. No one remembers everything they learned in school but what people take away from school is much more important. They learn how to become critical thinkers and how to use logic and common sence better. I also think that public schools are the best for kids because it lets them deal with their peers and lets the kids learn how to interact with them properly. School is much more than papers and dates and formulas its about growing up and knowing how to think clearly and inteligently.

What I expect for this semester
From this course I expect to gain a better understanding of how to summarize and how to write papers better. I hope that I learn better grammar so my papers can sound better. I expect the teacher to be helpful and just to teach the class to the best of his ability. I expect a lot more out of myself though. I want to get A's and B's this semester so that means I have to go to all of my classes and do the homework and readings. I also have to have fun though because these are supposed to be the best years of my life.

About Me
My name is Aaron Devine and I was born in the city of crystal. As I was growing up my parents kept me active in cub scouts and boys choir. As I got older I got sick of boys choir and quit but I stayed with cub scouts and moved up into boy scouts. I went to middle school at Sandburg where I was enrolled in the IB program. In middle school I had a couple girlfriends but nothing serious. Then after I was done with middle school I went to Armstrong high school. It was there that I met my high school sweet heart, Rachel. We dated for 3.5 years which is alot longer time than I had imagined we would. During high school I was able to obtain a pretty good GPA and I also achieved the highest rank in boy scouts, the eagle scout. Now I am going to Mankato state. Rachel and I broke up and I am still an active adult in my troop. I am enjoying the college experience and am looking foward to what the future has to bring.
